About

Philosophy of care

I like to focus on patient education. When patients are educated on their disease process, it empowers them. Patient participation and empowerment means they can share their opinions, knowledge, experience and expectations with health professionals to make informed decisions. This can only improve satisfaction with the care they are receiving.

Why I entered medicine

I'm a people person. I started in an engineering career but switched to medicine because I wanted to help people and form long-lasting relationships with them. I find this much more rewarding than sitting at a desk all day in front of a computer.

Community involvement

I have a son with autism. I am involved in local autism groups and volunteer for the Special Olympics.

Personal interests

I love to cook and make most of the meals for my family. I enjoy exercising daily. I love to ski, hike and travel. I am an avid Formula One fan and enjoy traveling to one race each year.
