Philosophy of care

As a reconstructive urologist, I am fortunate to dedicate my career to improving patients’ quality of life. Many have symptoms related to the treatment of urologic cancers, complications from other urologic surgeries or congenital (inherited) disorders that can radically change daily life. I provide the most up to date treatment options while stressing the risks and benefits of an intervention, whether surgical or medication. I want every patient to be educated about their condition and understand their options so we can make a treatment decision as a team. My goal is to treat every patient as if they are family.

Why I entered medicine

I entered medicine to help improve the lives of people in my community. Growing up in Buffalo, N.Y. as the oldest son of a funeral director, I saw how empathy and compassion can improve the worst situations. I hope to bring that same compassion to my patients. Urology combines the medical and surgical management of all conditions, from the kidneys to the genitals. Being a specialist who can manage patients with medication or provide immediate surgical intervention allows me to provide care from start to finish. Urologic reconstruction is dynamic and constantly evolving. I enjoy working with patients and their families on a treatment plan that puts their quality of life first.

Community involvement

I participate in annual medical mission trips providing reconstructive care to underserved communities. My last was a visit to Mongolia in the summer of 2024.

Personal interests

I enjoy the outdoors and the seasons. I plan to spend time this winter in the Poconos teaching my children how to ski and snowboard, and then summer weekends visiting the Jersey Shore. As a Buffalonian, I would be remiss if I did not profess my love for the Buffalo Bills and spend a Sunday watching football.
