About

Philosophy of care

My philosophy hinges on collaboration with patients and communication within the health care team to provide patient-centered, empathetic care. By considering patients holistically and focusing on education and advocacy, I aim to optimize their outcomes and prevent disease progression before it becomes an issue.

Why I entered medicine

Establishing relationships with patients and their families is deeply fulfilling to me. With my background as an RN in critical care and experience working with individuals in their homes, I have witnessed the consequences of poor disease management and inadequate preventive care. These issues often stem from a lack of knowledge, so my goal is to empower patients with the information needed to make the best decisions for themselves and their families.

Community involvement

Community service has been a cornerstone of my life, from earning the Presidential Student Service Award in high school to serving as the community service chair of my university’s Student Nurse Association. I am committed to serving my community any way I can. Currently, I volunteer with the Adalyn Rose Foundation, supporting families affected by pregnancy and infant loss. I also aspire to serve with an international organization that provides medical care worldwide.

Personal interests

I am passionate about nature and the outdoors. I enjoy hiking, kayaking, glamping and roasting marshmallows over the fire pit in my backyard. When not outdoors, I bring nature indoors by caring for my many houseplants. Additionally, I enjoy time with my family, cooking and reading.
