About

Philosophy of care

My philosophy of care is that the outcome of any healthcare decision should be based on relationships, forged of a mutual respect and trust between healthcare provider and patient. My specialty of choice, family medicine, affords me the opportunity to build these relationships with patients and their families. My role as a physician, as I view it, is to help my patients achieve their health and wellness goals physically, emotionally and spiritually. I have chosen to practice family medicine in the town where I live because I feel that it's important to understand how people identify with themselves, and with others, within the community, with their peers, and with their families.

Why I entered medicine

I chose a career in medicine because in addition to possessing a true love of the sciences and a reverence for nature and how the human body works, medicine has afforded me the best opportunity to apply my vocation in a way that is consistent with my personal values. These include helping others in need, and establishing relationships with people within the community which I practice in order to help them attain their healthcare goals physically, emotionally, and even spiritually.

Community involvement

My community involvement generally involves volunteering to help with my sons' sports teams and after school activities.

Personal interests

My personal interests include spending time with my family first and foremost, exercising, cooking, reading and traveling, and I'm an avid Boston Red Sox fan!
