Get to know Yamin Zaw, MD, family medicine resident.

Career goal: Family medicine

I was born in Bago, Myanmar, and moved to the United States (Seattle) in 2019. Growing up in Myanmar, I faced many health care challenges. Losing my grandparents when I was 17 made me realize the importance of quality health care. I chose this program because I met highly-organized and compassionate individuals who further inspired me on my mission. I’m eager for a career in family medicine because it allows for close patient interaction. As a newcomer to the U.S., this is an opportunity to be a part of the community. I am passionate about geriatric medicine. I enjoy watching movies, traveling, going on road trips, spending time with my hubby, working out at Pure Barre, yoga, Zumba and fashion.
