COVID-19 vaccine appointments are available at LVPG primary care offices and LVHN ExpressCARE locations.
At LVHN, Pfizer-BioNTech’s updated COVID-19 vaccine doses are available for adults and children 12 and older at either your Lehigh Valley Physician Group (LVPG) primary care office or an ExpressCARE location. Children under 12 must receive COVID-19 vaccinations at their primary care doctor's office.
LVPG: LVPG primary care (internal medicine, family medicine and pediatrics) practices are offering these vaccines for their patients during specific vaccination appointments or as part of yearly physical or sick/problem visits (as long as the patient is not experiencing symptoms of COVID-19).
ExpressCARE: For no-appointment COVID-19 vaccinations, visit an ExpressCARE location near you. ExpressCARE can provide COVID-19 vaccinations for most people 12 and older. Visit LVHN.org/expresscare for location information.
Two important notes about ExpressCARE and COVID-19 vaccinations:
- Children 12-18 who have Medicaid coverage: ExpressCARE is not a Vaccines for Children (VFC) provider, so children in this population cannot get their shot at ExpressCARE. However, all LVPG Family Medicine and LVPG Pediatrics locations are VFC providers, and families can schedule vaccines with their child’s primary care office.
- Children younger than 12: Neither ExpressCARE nor Children's ExpressCARE offer COVID vaccinations for children younger than 12. Make an appointment with your child’s primary care office for a COVID vaccination.
How to schedule a vaccine appointment at your LVPG primary care office
- Please call your LVPG primary care clinician’s office to make an appointment.
- If you do not have an LVPG primary care clinician, call 888-402-LVHN (5846) to schedule a new patient visit that will establish care with the team. A vaccine can be provided at that visit.
COVID-19 vaccine boosters and third primary shots
LVHN offers Pfizer-BioNTech’s updated COVID-19 vaccine shots, which have been authorized by the Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, to all people ages 6 months and older.
Those with no prior COVID vaccination will receive the appropriate series of doses as directed by the CDC.
People who are moderately or severely immunocompromised should discuss vaccination strategies with their doctor. The number of doses recommended will depend on prior vaccination status and age.
