Summary

Will collect, clean, transform, analyze, and interpret patient safety data using different approaches and business intelligence tools to make actionable insights that lead to better informed business decisions making the information accessible and digestible through easy-to-understand graphs, tables, reports, and dashboards. The analyst will assist with other duties as assigned.

Job Duties

  • Develop, implement, and maintain patient safety reports and presentations including but not limited to Patient Safety Council Report, Skin Council Report, Fall Prevention Report, Executive Summary and Board Reports.
  • Perform analysis to assess the quality and meaning of patient safety data including filtering data; identify, interpret patterns and trends in all patient safety data sets.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for the management stating trends and patterns using statistical techniques to support strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain National Patient Safety Goal Data in the Patient Safety Application and Tableau.
  • Collaborate with management and internal teams to implement, evaluate, and monitor patient safety data performance to identify improvements.
  • Create and maintain Patient Safety dashboards.
  • Collect, clean, and prepare data from primary or secondary data sources (e.g., Vizient).
  • Maintain RCA Module functionality and monitor identified actions.
  • Provide support and education regarding Patient Safety Application to colleagues as needed.
  • Support with test case scenarios of the functionality of the patient safety application.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • 7 years Experience in data science/analytics, data mining
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in computer science or information management
  • 2 years Experience with RLDatix application
  • Proficient in Excel, Power Query, Power Pivot, Tableau, Power BI, DAX, Microsoft Suite, Vizient; ability to learn, navigate and process data within the patient safety event reporting system.
  • Recognize ethical implications of data usage, storage, and analysis in terms of privacy and security.
  • Reporting and data visualization skills, familiar with dashboards.
  • Critical thinking, attention to detail and analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to set and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with statistical software.

Physical Demands

Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
