Our team of board-certified neurologists have years of experience diagnosing and treating patients with neurological conditions. Many of our neurologists have fellowship training in neurological specialties, giving them a high level of skill and knowledge in the field.
What is neurology?
Neurology is the medical field that deals with all conditions and diseases of the nervous system, which includes:
- Central nervous system: Brain and spinal cord
- Peripheral nervous system: The nerves that are outside of the brain and spinal cord, throughout the body
A neurologist has specialized education, training and experience in caring for people with neurological disorders, including epilepsy, stroke, headache disorders, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, spinal disorders, disorders of the peripheral nervous system (such as peripheral neuropathy) and neuromuscular disorders. Your doctor may refer you to our team if you are experiencing unexplained symptoms such as headaches or muscle weakness. Our team performs the full range of diagnostic testing, including single-fiber electromyography (EMG). This test, which is not widely available, is especially valuable for diagnosing neuromuscular disorders. We combine the latest diagnostic technology with our years of experience to give you a diagnosis.

Neuroscience intensive care unit (NSICU)
Our NSICU has a team of physicians and nurses with extensive training in neurology and critical care. We care for patients who have brain tumors, neurodegenerative diseases, neurovascular disorders and complex spine conditions or trauma.
Highest level of stroke treatment
Our Comprehensive Stroke Center was the first both in Pennsylvania and on the East Coast to receive this advanced certification from the Joint Commission. The designation recognizes our skilled staff, advanced training and excellent standard of care for patients with complex strokes.
Our Stroke Center:
- Provides 24/7 access to a neuro-interventionist, a doctor who specializes in using catheter-based techniques to treat stroke
- Treats the highest number of stroke patients in the region
- Is able to perform early testing and prompt evaluation, leading to the best results possible for our patients
