Lehigh Valley Health Network offers the national Safe Sitter® Essentials program, which helps to prepare adolescents who have completed 5th grade through 8th grade with skills to be safe when they are babysitting, watching younger siblings, or home alone. Fee of $27.50 per student includes student handbook.
The BLS course is open to the general public and covers core American Heart Association (AHA) material such as adult and pediatric CPR, Choking Rescue, and practice with automated external defibrillation.
This course requires review of the BLS online education (e-book) prior to attending the in-person skills testing. You must attend in-person skills testing to be eligible for certification.
