Sometimes it helps to talk with someone who not only knows what you are going through, but is going through it at the exact same time. With that in mind, LVHN created postpartum support groups. These groups allow you to meet other parents, build friendships and learn from a moderator and mentor who works on the LVHN team.

LVPG Emotions & Support

Adjusting to new parent life can be stressful. Call your LVPG OB office to schedule an appointment (either virtual or in-person) with a behavioral health specialist and/or a WAVES provider. These resources are available to provide emotional support both during pregnancy and after childbirth. Support for infant loss and birth trauma are also available through these programs.

Women Adjusting to Various Emotional States (WAVES)

This program is designed for women who are dealing with the emotions of pregnancy and motherhood. Click here and talk to your LVPG OBGYN to learn more.

Postpartum Emotional Support Group

If you’re anxious, depressed or just completely overwhelmed, you don’t have to struggle through postpartum alone. Postpartum Emotional Support Group is a safe place where postpartum moms can come together to share about the emotional difficulties of motherhood and draw on each other’s strength and expertise as they navigate the first year of postpartum. Meetings are led by trained mental health clinicians and held every second and fourth Monday of the month from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at 1243 S. Cedar Crest Blvd., third floor, Education Room, Allentown, Pa. If you’re 12 months or fewer postpartum and are interested in joining, please call our behavioral health coordinator, Bridget Young, at 610-849-0963. Free to attend.
