Your LVHN partners are here to help you prevent illness, live well and build healthier communities. We do this in many ways.

We partner with the Kellyn Mobile Market, which stops by LVHN locations regularly as it travels the region. The market delivers fresh, local produce and healthy meals at an affordable price, giving families the opportunity to make the healthy choice the easy choice.

The Valley Health Partners Street Medicine team continues to care for area homeless people. Now, as homelessness is increasing due to the economic hardship caused by the pandemic, we are urging area landlords to take advantage of federal funds to make vacant units available to those who need shelter.

Going forward, our greatest efforts to build healthier communities will result from work that began 46 years ago by LVHN’s modern-day founder, Leonard Parker Pool. In 1975, he established a Trust in memory of his wife, Dorothy, that has been used to improve the health of our region’s citizens.

In 2021, that Trust has evolved into The Leonard Parker Pool Institute for Health as well as the Pool Center for Health Analytics. These LVHN entities will work to influence factors that contribute to the health of our community; factors such as education, housing and access to healthy food. Colleagues from these groups will:

  • Partner with area agencies and leaders to address complex social issues affecting health
  • Engage local residents to develop community-led approaches to improving health
  • And work with nationally recognized experts to establish our area as a model for health improvement

We are grateful for the foresight of Mr. Pool. His generosity and compassion for fellow citizens continues to impact our community decades after his initial vision.
