Fellow Recruitment and Selection
The LVHN addiction medicine program firmly believes that diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) are the foundation for a fellowship program that fosters the vision, culture and values that reduce stigma and embody a trauma-informed learning and care-delivery setting for the patients who entrust us with their care, the learners who choose to work with us, and the faculty and staff who participate in the journey.
As such, fostering a trauma-informed environment with attention to DEI will include intentional recruitment efforts to seek trainees who match the population experiencing substance use disorder that we serve. It will also use a holistic review process both in the selection as well as in the evaluation processes of fellows throughout the program. This review will center around traditional competencies needed to be successful in the program but also understand the value of lived experience and distance traveled aligning with the mission and values of the fellowship program.
