If you’re a high school student and want to learn more about the dynamic and exciting world of health care, Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) offers numerous programs designed especially for you.
Our programs allow you to learn about health care careers firsthand. We also offer volunteer opportunities for high school students at our hospital campuses. We are passionate about supporting and guiding the next generation of health care professionals.
The educational opportunities offered by LVHN will include:
- LVHN Health Care Futures Program (six-week program for high school seniors)
- Emerging Health Professionals (yearlong dual-enrollment program, Lehigh County high school seniors only)
- Emerging Health Professionals (yearlong dual-enrollment program, Schuylkill County high school seniors only)
- Bethlehem Area Vocational-Technical School Academy of Medical Science (yearlong program, Northampton County high school seniors only)
- LVHN Health Care Career Pathways (8-10-week supplemental curriculum facilitated in a classroom setting
- Teen volunteer opportunities
Shadowing requests
LVHN does not approve shadowing or observation requests for students outside of our established programs. This includes requests for shadowing for high school students to complete school requirements and for undergraduate students to complete application requirements for professional programs.
